In the spring of 2008, my then 6 year old son, Sy, and I picked up and moved our lives from Toronto, Canada, back to where I was born: Budapest, Hungary. I've been walking around with my camera since we arrived here. This is a collection of some of my hundreds of street shots as I rediscover "home".

Sy's 2nd grade class had swimming lessons ever Tuesday morning at 8am at the local olympic pool, BVSC. it was so weird. big, cold, quiet... there's nothing fun sounding about swimming lessons in December cold at the crack of dawn, led by a strict Austrian coach, no less. echos of Commie days?

Keleti Pályaudvar (Budapest's East Railway Station). Everyone seems to snap a photo of this guy at some point or another.

I admire couples who can stay together that long and still be holding hands when they walk together. hope.

under the Erzsébet híd (bridge) during our excursion the Buda side to visit the neighbourhood I lived in when I was a little girl. It started raining like mad so we hung out under the bridge.

Budapest Jump Project (BJP) >> Sy and I started a series of photos in the city streets where I would count to 3 and he's jump and I'd snap. My little sony cybershot has an annoying 4 second or so delay after hitting the button, so it took a while to tweak my timing to perfect. This is one of my fave shots from the project.

megérkeztünk! (we have arrived!)
Our first photo here in Budapest - day of arrival.... finally, after breaking our lives down to the very core in Toronto and only grabbing what fits into 4 pieces of luggage and a carry-on, we arrived in Budapest on May 31.
